Excalibur The Dragon's Edge : A reminder to look beyond the surface

Résumé

In 2014, Maeve Bull, a cataloguer at Balmoral Estate, stumbles upon a leather-bound Russian inventory of the Imperial Treasury. Ignoring protocol, she takes it home for further examination, but her journey ends tragically when she is struck and killed by a Land Rover as she leaves the estate shrouded in fog. Estate constable Bennett, recognising the vehicle as belonging to Balmoral, hands Maeve's diary to her devastated husband, Alexander Bull, along with a cryptic warning: "Don't let them have it." In the rain-drenched streets of Birmingham, Alexander Bull finds himself on the brink of despair, his grief overwhelming his desire to live. Just as he contemplates ending it all, a man named Arthur intervenes, pulling him back from the edge and sparking an unexpected friendship that leads to a journey of redemption and the discovery of ancient power. Years later, both men become embroiled in a tangled web of intrigue and corruption, where a seemingly simple insurance fraud case involving counterfeit patch boxes spirals into a dangerous conspiracy linked to the theft of invaluable Romanov treasures. Alongside Bull's quest for personal redemption, a mythic tale unfolds surrounding a sword of immense power and ancient heritage. Gifted to Arthur by a venerable Japanese sword master, the blade, once known as Excalibur, possesses a consciousness that transcends mere weaponry, destined to be wielded by someone truly worthy. The fates of Bull and the sword's rightful bearer, Morgan, intertwine, signaling the onset of a greater conflict on the horizon.
